The Bigger B was rather spaced out! Er, sorry, rather… he showed up to inaugurate a cyber event! The launch of a website: www.ajayatul.com, spearheaded by the sibling duo of Marathi music composers Ajay-Atul. Furthermore, they also celebrated their unprecedented success at the '56th National Film Awards' for winning the 'National Film Award for Best Music Direction' for their Marathi film 'Jogwa'.
"This is the first time that a Marathi film has won the National award for 'Best Music' and that makes us feel rather proud and humbled at the same time," avers Ajay.
Bachchan cut a mock ribbon on the computer, flagging off the website run. "We've also had a long standing association with Marathi cinema," revealed Bachchan. "Our production 'Vihir' has made it to the South Korea Film Festivals, and also to film festivals at Berlin and London.
Besides, I've been told that it's also been invited to two other big film festivals in Europe. We have always supported Marathi cinema; whether it was a film that had to the Oscars and needed financial assistance or a Marathi film from a young and brilliant director at FTII, our help has always been forthcoming. Atul and Ajay had done work on 'Virrudh' and that's' when I realised that they were excellent music composers. And that's why I'm here to wish them all the success for their website. It feels great when someone from Maharashtra, the state that we live in makes it big on the national platform." Maratha magic, Mr. Bachchan?
